Sushi Room

Sushi Room offers an unparalleled dining experience, presenting authentic Japanese cuisine in a contemporary setting led by head chef Shimpei Raikuni. The restaurant’s unique interior, designed by Richards & Spence, takes cues from a 1960s futuristic vision of Japanese minimalism. The space features intriguing textures, colours, and volumes, such as a dramatic, brutalist domed ceiling, creating a reverential, theatre-like atmosphere that complements the refined cuisine.

Our design response reflects Sushi Room’s materiality, colour palette, and minimalism, aligning with the restaurant’s broader philosophy of culinary innovation. Print collateral features subtle details, such as silver foil to hint at the restaurant’s future-focused mindset, and hidden splashes of red, like the underside of placemats, to create moments of curiosity. Custom domed embossing on red-backed business cards and origami-inspired folded elements in the Omakase and Enkai menus further echo the interior’s elegance and encourage guest interaction.
